To Spend or Not to Spend: Oscar Edition

When you think of the Academy awards red carpet, you think multi million dollar jewelry, diamonds galore, and crazy expensive gowns. What you might not think of is the reasonable retailer and one of my favorites… H&M. Well, Helen Hunt sure did! That’s right, the actress chose the retailer for her red carpet moment and believe it or not, looked astonishingly similar to the look Reese Witherspoon chose, by Louis Vuitton. Quite the price point difference right?! So, what do you think? To spend or not to spend when it comes to the red carpet?

Hot Days, Cool Outfits

We’ve had surprisingly chilly temps around here lately, but I’m not letting that fool me. The hot weather is on its way! Which means the need for light, airy, and always fabulous clothing. Nothing puts a cramp on a stylish day light a heavy weight fabric or a constricting outfit…but you always still want to maintain your fashionable lady like look. I was super interested to discover H&M’s new Conscious Collection. Filled with echo friendly fabrics made of super lightweight materials and covered with incredibly fun prints, this collection is perfect to usher in another steaming hot summer! You can shop the entire collection here and below are some of my favorite pieces. Believe me, it was hard to narrow it down!

Fancy Pants

I’m pretty sure everyone I know is extremely excited that spring is almost here. With the major flip-flopping the weather has done lately (30 degrees one day, 70 the next), the not so rewarding winter (what is winter without a little snow?!), I feel like spring is being welcomed world-wide with open arms! You can exercise outside, the flowers are blooming, sandals are being dusted off, and bright colors are everywhere. It truly is magical! So it comes as no surprise that I am very excited about a spring trend that I feel encompasses everything fabulous about spring. The floral pant! Yes this style also comes in denim form, and shorts form, but there is something so ethereal about a floral patterned trouser or capri. Balance these styles with a flouncey white top, bow flats or fabulous espadrilles, and you are ready to conquer the season!

Versace for H&M

Every girl would love to say she has a Versace in her closet. So what if it also carries an H&M tag on the inside…its the designer that counts, right? So thanks to the super smart collaborating minds over at the mega house for affordable clothes, in one month we can all purchase a little Versace of our own. Granted, some pieces still add up to more than one might be willing to fork over at a retailer such as this, but some pieces are absolutely stunning and so out of the ordinary. Expect clean lines, surprising cut outs, and sleek silhouettes.  I already have my eye on THE perfect red dress. Here are some of my favorites pieces from the look book. The collection launches November 17th.
