Red Carpet Favorites: The Academy Awards!

It’s finally here! The biggest red carpet night of the year…the Oscars! All red carpets lead to this one. It’s the night of ultimate dress up! This is my Super Bowl. I made Josh and I a fancy dinner…dessert….and settled in for the show. I loved watching talent get recognized, and enjoyed discovering films I still need to see. More importantly…here are my favorite’s in Hollywood’s biggest black tie event.

My jaw literally dropped when Reese graced the red carpet in this Armani Prive’ gown, Neil Lane jewels, and fabulous updo.

I’m not a huge fan of the shape of the gown, but I believe if you are nominated for an Oscar, it’s a safe fashion ‘win’ to wear all sparkle. Amy Adams rocked this L’Wren Scott purple number.

Hilary Swank knows how to walk a red carpet Oscar style. This feathered Gucci gown, complete with crystals, is just beyond.

Surprisingly enough, I loved Sharon Stone. Sort of “Elvira” chic, but oh so gorgeous with all the feathers atop the shoulder of this Christian Dior piece.

I can’t get enough of this ballet number by Lily et Cie 1950 Charles James Couture on Marisa Tomei

I love when an actress thinks outside the box. Cate Blanchett certainly did when she chose this amazingly detailed Givenchy Haute Couture gown

Another lady who knows how to dress for this red carpet of red carpets… Sandra Bullock in this fabulous red Vera Wang

Hailee Steinfeld was adorable and so age appropriate in this sweet, Marchesa tea length dress

I wish Mandy Moore had done something a little different with her hair and makeup to lend more color to this ensemble, but I adore the design of this Monique Lhuillier dress and the fit is simply gorgeous.

And last but certainly not least was Jennifer Lawrence in this form fitting Calvin Klein dress. Simple, understated, yet incredibly gorgeous.

Red Carpet Favorites: The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are my second favorite fashion night of the year {the first being of course the Oscars}. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning just waiting to see what comes out of each limo. The hairstyles, the accessories, the dresses, and the colors! So many trends for the coming seasons spring from this red carpet. And the Globes are special in the fact that it’s more laid back in atmosphere and the stars seem to let loose a little more in their styles. So let’s dig in to my fav’s!

Lea Michelle get’s my #1 pick. I think I literally squealed when I saw this whole outfit. As you know, I’m a sucker for a one shoulder and I also can’t get enough of this color. With the cold weather outside, this gorgeous, Oscar de la Renta gown in a summer color splash was like a mini vay-cay.

I’m usually not a huge Angelina fan. Especially since she typically always wears black. I was super surprised to see her in, next to pinks, what seemed to be one of the hottest colors of the night. She rocked this emerald green, Atelier Versace gown. I especially loved the all over sequins and the super strong shoulders.

Another strong shoulder contender for best dressed in my opinion, Anne Hathaway. This gorgeous, Armani Prive gown that’s embroidered with Swarovski crystals. And again, a color in the peachy pink family steals the Globes show.

Claire Danes is always classy and I love the surprise that was her in this bright Calvin Klein Collection dress. I’m especially in love with this halter neckline.

There is something so different about Leighton Meester in this Burberry gown that I just love. It’s so unexpectedly glamorous. I love the long sleeve girly-ness paired with the stunning shoe.

I will close my red carpets favorites list with Dianna Agron. This entire ensamble is beyond. The J. Mendel dress is too perfect for her and the combination of accessories, hair, and just overall ambiance of the outfit, steals the show.
